As the workshop training organized by Rwanda Climate Change and Development Network for all PPIMA Partners went on, the Norwegian People’s Aid Management Staff paid a visit to the workshop and had a chance to listen to the participant presentations.

Day two of the workshop, on April 21, 2022, started with all participants doing a recap on day one as they looked at the objectives of the workshop, and climate change terms before taking some new steps.

Dr. Abias Maniragaba preceded by explaining more about Climate Change and Adaptation Strategies. later, the RCCDN Coordinator, Faustin Vuningoma joined in and referred to the fact that ‘We are on our way to making the world hotter in the 21st century than it has been in the last million years.’ Therefore; with that, he raised a concern, “Where are you taking this world? And where are you leaving it at?”ImageRCCDN Coordinator, Faustin Vuningoma joined Dr. Abias Maniragaba as he raised a concern.

The global average surface temperature projections show that we are heading for a climatical state outside the range of variation of the last 1000 days. This entirely means that Climate Change needs closer attention and collaboration for its better sustainability.

The participants of this workshop were put into 4 different groups to discuss how they can reduce carbon emissions in various areas.

  • Group 1: How can we reduce carbon emissions in Transportation?
  • Group 2: How can we reduce carbon emissions in Heating and Cooling Buildings?
  • Group 3: How can we reduce carbon emissions in Industry Carbon Output?
  • Group 4: How can we reduce carbon emissions in Electricity Use?ImageParticipants in group discussions on the reduction of carbon emissions.
