Day 2: RCCDN in Advocacy Forum Retreat for PPIMA Partners

The second day started with a day one recap and then different civil society organisations started their presentations of what they have managed to do and their ways forward.

Haguruka NGO demonstrated the policy issues on the capacity gap and weak coordination as well as the increased number of lodged cases in court. There should be more advocacy strategies to manage those cases well.

To advocate for the institutionalisation of the capacity-building strategy Never Again Rwanda aims to promote the quality of service delivery in local government, especially in Sub-District entities in the PPIMA Partners advocacy assessments.

To include data of the affected, cases received and rapid assessment establishing the magnitude of the issue as the Great Lakes Initiative for Human Rights and Development (GLIHD) reminded everyone not to forget the improvement of international standards of asylum seekers and see if there is any room for appeal in the court of law.

There is a mismatch between the demand and supply side of legal aid along the criminal justice and matters associated with the inadequate implementation of the policy as presented by the Center of Rule of Law Rwanda (CERULAR) during the PPIMA Partners Advocacy Forum Retreat organized by Norwegian People’s Aid Rwanda (NPA).

Therefore, HDI Rwanda as an NGO that fights for human and health rights, reflects the LGBTI Community which faces so many issues in Rwandan society. That said, HDI Rwanda focuses on advocacy for the individuals’ rights in regards to the Advocacy Forum Retreat for PPIMA Partners on the validation of the organizational advocacy strategies.
