RCCDN partakes in COP27 with delight in some initiatives

Rwanda Climate Change and Development Network participated in the COP27 and was delighted with some initiatives while there in Sharm-El Shiekh, Egypt since November 3, 2022.

RCCDN with its mission of being the lead network in Rwanda that advocates for community resilience to climate change, justice and equitable development, represented by its Coordinator, Faustin Vuningoma attended the COP27 where he met Ahmed Diallo from Mali and both joined civil society from 54 countries of Africa in submitting the Climate Justice Torch which was initiated by PACJA (Pan-African Climate Justice Alliance) to COP27P Presidency in Sharm-El Shiekh in Egypt.

It was after the Comprehensive Africa Climate Change Initiative event #CACCI at the Zambian Pavillon in #COP27 that the RCCDN Coordinator spoke on the progress of the initiative in Rwanda and there of expectations. The USAID support was relished in this initiative that will bring all key stakeholders together in the implementation of the NDCs and so RCCDN is delighted to be part of the initiative.

During the time in COP27 which was held at Sharm El-Sheikh where RCCDN Coordinator was representing the organization, he attended the launch of “Ireme Investment” by His Excellency Paul Kagame at the Rwandan Pavilion in the Conference Of Parties (COP).

Having some fruitful discussions with the Minister of Environment ahead of the launch of the NDC facility at the COP27 Rwanda Pavilion and RALGA to cordially work together to contribute meaningfully to the implementation and mainstreaming of the NDCs into District plans and strategies as it was appreciated due to the various played roles in the organization and efficiency of the Rwandan team in Sharm-El Shiekh.
