Tuyisenge is a Climate scientist, working as Research Director at RCCDN. Prio to this post,
He served in Meteo Rwanda and occupied Senior position such as Senior Forecaster. He is
a Master of Science degree in Climate change holder, from University of Nairobi, Kenya. I
am also a holder of bachelor of science degree in applied Physics. He worked for 12 years
in a field of research related to weather, climate services and their application in different
sectors such as agriculture, environmental management, energy, health, water and other
fields. Through this experience, He is proficient at interactive and collaborations activities
across multiple sectors and information users by facilitating workshops, developing training
manuals, conducting different trainings and sessions and provide expertise analysis and
action cantered. I also have the skills to develop the capacity of extension workers and
facilitate in delivering high-quality agricultural training. Over various responsibilities he holds
at RCCDN among others we can mention: Analyzing policies, programmes and practices
related to climate change, environment and agro ecology, Conducting quick research on
specific policy issues when needed, Analyzing and interpreting research data and reports,
especially to develop policy briefs. Leading research projects. Analyzing policies,
programmes and Practices related to Climate change, Environment and Agro ecology,
Managing external researchers when needed and presenting findings to the audience,
Liaison with government, and partner with both public and non-governmental organizations
on issues related to different socio-economic sectors, climate change and the environment.
Over that experience of working with government institutions, He recently served as a Senior
Forecaster at Rwanda Meteorology Agency (METEO RWANDA), where He was in charge
among others of guiding in professionalism to generate weather forecasts for the general
public and specific information to different operational demands, supervising staff on duty of
the staff on duty to ensure delivery of services and adherence to specified Processes,
particularly in support of Early Warning Services and Conduct investigations into exceptional
weather events, as and when necessary to improve future forecasting performance. His
work was based on research related to weather, and climate services and their application in
different sectors such as agriculture, environmental management, energy, health, water and
other fields.
